2004 Marathon Run

A Caring Hand, The Billy Esposito Foundation Board Member runs for a special cause.

On November 7th, 2004, Jennifer Nyp, ACH Board Secretary participated in the New York City Marathon . She raised over $5,000 in sponsor money to donate to A Caring Hand, The Billy Esposito Foundation.

Participating restaurants included: Artisinal, A.S.J. Gentile’s, Blue Fin, Bobby Van’s Steakhouse, Brunelli, Cite, Copacabana, David Burke & Donatella, Del Frisco’s, Maloney & Porcelli, Moda, Unity Catering at The Embassy Suites, Tribeca Grill.

“A Caring Hand is very near to my heart, as I lost my dad when I was two years old. This is a photograph of myself, my mom and my dad. My dad was only 23 years old when he lost his life to testicular cancer.

My mother remarried when I was six, and although I was fortunate to have a wonderful stepfather, to this day I still feel a void of never knowing my biological father.”

26.2 miles is a long distance to run, but Jennifer trained hard to get into condition to achieve her goal. She ran 30-40 miles per week to train and even more as it got closer to the race. While the preparation and the dedication were tough and the aches and pains got everyday, thinking about how many children will benefit from the run made it all worth it.”

Thank you Jennifer for running for our cause and all the children you helped. We thank everyone who supported you – No amount is too large or too small because every dollar makes a better tomorrow for these families.

Thank you!
